I'm destined to be an Oncologist na ata... waah noo!
Haaayy grabe, umulit ang hindi kaayaaya...
First "from duty" last time sa "acute infectious ward"... namatay patient ko sa PICU... It was at Bed B... under Dr. G...
Yesterday... it was my first "from duty" again this time sa "chronic ward"... namatay na naman patient ko... Bed B... under Dr. G...
Grabe! Coincidence na kung coincidence pero naman huhuhu... konti lang as in konti lang namamatay sa Pedia... why under meeee??? Huhuhuhu.... :' ( Minsan na nga lang ako magka-patient, kinukuha pa ni Lord..
The case was an 8-year-old boy, diagnosed with medulloblastoma last 2004, the tumor was excised na, and he underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy also, plus may VP shunt siya for his hydrocephalus... then he was admitted again this week because of relapse. I wasn't able to see him the first day he was admitted, sabi sa'kin ng previous clerk niya "buhay na buhay" pa siya, masiglang bata pero nakakalimot na -- he peed & pooed sa underwear niya and he wouldn't recognize his relatives, pero other than that okay lang daw siya. Nung namana ko siya, he was lethargic na.. few hours after comatose na.. then you-know-what-happened.. Nakakalungkot grabe. We currently have 15 patients sa chronic ward, most of them cancer cases -- take note: Pedia Ward ito! Ang daming batang may cancer grabe.. :' (
As I grow old,
my realizations about life become deeper,
problems get bigger,
situations become more complicated
and I know that you are just like me.
Sometimes we wish we could go back..
back to the time when
the only man in our life was our dad,
our only bestfriend was our mom,
and any pain could be healed by just a bandaid and a lollipop :-(
